Community commitment

Stronger together

Securian Financial has a strong-rooted tradition of supporting our community. Our 2018 Community Impact Report highlights our commitments through philanthropy, diversity and inclusion, sustainability and responsible investing practices.

We believe that when our neighbors, customers, employees, suppliers and environment do well, we all do well.

Making meaningful contributions

Throughout our 139-year history, Securian Financial has made giving a priority. Since its inception in 1988, the Securian Financial Foundation has contributed $43 million to enhance the quality of life in our community.

In 2018 alone, Securian Financial contributed $6.6 million through cash gifts, in-kind contributions and volunteer services.

We estimate 90 percent of our associates participate in our annual Greater Twin Cities United Way campaign, which raised over $1 million in 2018. This level of giving ranks us as one of the top corporate contributors in the Twin Cities for the 10th consecutive year – a significant achievement relative to our size.

The Securian Financial Foundation

We established the Securian Financial Foundation in 1988 to further our charitable giving efforts. The foundation works to enhance the quality of life and vitality of our community by investing in nonprofit organizations that make a positive difference and advance the common good.
